If you have not yet visited the Trader Joe's on Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, FL which opened in February 2012 (the second TJ's in FL) , or any TJ's, you're missing a fun experience. It is a cool place to shop for everyday grocery needs. TJ's has mastered a balanced blend of all natural organic selections, as well as quality everyday products, all at perfect price points. They have found their niche and hit the mark with their customer profile. TJ's loyalists visit often and are knowledgeable, particular, curious, and value minded. They appreciate the colorful and festive venue that promotes small unit purchases with low pricing.
Some of my favorites are TJ’s: fresh Fennel, fresh Pineapple juice, raw Cashews, frozen French-style string beans, and California Artichoke Hearts. A rare treat are the frozen Chocolate Chip Vanilla Ice Cream sandwiches. These days, my absolute favorite is TJ's fresh hearth oven bread called "Multigrain Anadama", a New England style sliced dark loaf. Then there is "Joe's Wine Shop", with dozens of worldwide wines (sold where state laws permit) and features the one and only, "Charles Shaw Wines", a TJ exclusive. All varieties are priced at $2.99 per bottle. Trader Joe's is a user friendly, smartly run boutique grocery store. It is definitely NOT your father's (or grandfather's) supermarket. Shopping here is a spirited, fun, uplifting experience that for me is a mini vacation, a predictable "feel good" time out.
